As this season of Spring in New Orleans is upon Us we look forward to Jazz and Heritage Festival.Another Successful FQF has come and Gone.The expectancy is for a Big and fun filled Jazz Festival.It’s a great thing for New Orleans the Musicians,Local Businesses,and of Course the City Government.A City which supposedly considers it’Music and Musicians to be it’s Pride and Joy! Well you visitors from Out of Town my be surprised to Know the City Government has been at War with it’s so called Pride and Joy!It’s been a Long Issue over a few Creeps who have moved here from somewhere else and Now Complain about Music being to Loud.HEY MOVE BACK TO SUNNYVALE,IDAHO YA CREEP!Not only that The so called Champion of Musicians The Mayor has allowed Mimi’s In the Marigny to be shut down for noise violations putting at least 20-30 Musicans a Week out of Work.I remember after Katrina playing on the Street with Flies in our drinks because we didnt have a venue to play at.When one opened Angeli’s Pizza on Decatur they immediately put 30-40 Musicians a week back to work.After about 4 months Guess what they were Shut Down because they didn’t have a Permit!Nevermind they were keeping The so called Pride of New Orleans going!I never count on any help from The City for anything!When they get involved they destroy the Creativity in Bureaucratic Red Tape! But if this is really an important Industry to them don’t you think they would be going out of their way To Help The Thriving Music scene here?It’s all Bull my friends …Smoke and Mirrors to make the City look like they care so they can rake in the Millions and Rob the coffers.This administration is no different from the last 100.So they want New Orleans to be a controlled Music zone.New Orleans will be the next Austin The so called Music Capital where No Musicians can make a Living!Since Katrina The Influx of Musicians to the City is Unpresidented and Has put a Strain on The working Class Musicians of New Orleans.Do I blame Them No.Do I really Like it?No but I can’t stop it!So now We have to fight the City and Try to stay working.The Culture That once was New Orleans is being Lost quicker than we realize.And Soon it will be a Memory
