Kenny Claiborne was born and raised in New Orleans. He has been in and around the New Orleans music scene in a variety of ways; as a band leader, musician, manager, club owner, writer, and facilitator. Kenny was also a founding partner of the Mermaid Lounge, a legendary New Orleans nightclub. Recognized as a Frenchmen Street “original” by fellow musicians and locals, you can currently catch Kenny and one of his current music projects, Blood From a Stone, at The Apple Barrel on Frenchmen St. every Sunday night at 8p as well as every other Tuesday night at 8p. During Hurricane Katrina, Kenny stayed with his beloved city, creating and broadcasting “RADIO MARIGNY”, a pirate radio operated from his home. This native son continues to create from the wellspring that feeds both artists and lovers while sustaining the flow of music between himself and his city. Kenny writes, plays and performs with a fresh, honest style that makes for an entertaining and memorable show you won’t want to miss!
